I am perplexed as lately, women approaching 40 are hesitant, feeling the aging process, even dreading. As I approached my 40s - almost 20 years ago - there was none of that. Not with me, not with my peers. I had a few concerns and thoughts, as I determined that I would not have children, hadn't earned a bachelor degree, reached my career goals, etc. The thought of getting old never occurred to me. If I did have a little grey or lines on my face, I didn't notice.
I looked forward to my goals and dreams, adventure, and was happy to be treated with respect in business.
Fifty felt freeing.
I am concerned that the world is putting out new messages and pressuring women to stay 'young'.
As for the trees, I hope that doesn't mean men are invited to look us up and down and run their fingers on our skin.
