Carrying the Torch: Embracing Solitude on the Path Ahead
How Solitude Can Illuminate the Path Beyond the Circle...
There are moments when we gather around the collective fire, drawing strength from one another. And there are moments when we must carry our own torch into the depths alone. For me, this is one of those times.
I would love it if we could stay connected! If this is your first time here, then if you feel the call why not drop your email below so you will receive next seasons email!
This time of year often feels like the final push of energy, doesn’t it? We’re all rushing about in so many ways, trying to fit everything in before the year ends. We instinctively gather in big groups, drawn to the safety and comfort of being with others. It’s no surprise, really—especially with everything going on in the world right now. There’s something deeply human about wanting to be part of a community, to share warmth and energy with others instead of facing the long nights alone.
And yet I think we sometimes forget the power of stepping back, even just for a little while. These darker months before Yule have always felt like an invitation to pause and turn inward—a chance to check in with ourselves. It’s not about shutting the world out or isolating yourself but taking a moment to sit with your own light, your own beliefs, and see what’s there. To let the stillness help you notice what’s been buried under the noise and busyness of it all.
I’ve come to realize that while gathering around the fire with others feeds the soul, there’s something equally important about carrying your own torch into the quiet. There’s clarity in solitude, a kind of quiet magic that helps you remember who you are and what you stand for. It’s a time to rebuild your energy, to let your inner light grow stronger, so that when you do return to the circle, you bring something even brighter to share.
As we edge closer to Yule and the promise of returning light, maybe this is the perfect time to embrace the balance between togetherness and solitude. To step back, even briefly, and let yourself be still. Not to escape but to prepare—to rediscover your power, your purpose, and the strength that lies in your own flame.
That’s it from me this month, see you very soon! Don’t forget to share the love and send this to a friend who might enjoy it.
